A lot of Nigerians are skilled, but still, they find it difficult to land gigs, which can be frustrating. That's why I want to tell you about an interesting platform called Legiit.

Legiit is a freelancing site just like Fiverr or Upwork where prospective employers can find professional freelancers to help get jobs done; likewise, freelancers can land gigs, gain experience, and create a good relationship with their clients while earning money on the side.

And in this post, I'm going to talk about everything you need to know about Legiit and also share tips on how to make some cool cash from the site.

What is Legiit?

Legiit is a legit and safe freelance website created in 2018 by Chris Walker, the CEO of Legiit, and has given a lot of freelancers the opportunity to showcase their skills and also get an extra source of income.
Although not so popular in some countries like Nigeria, some Nigerians have used this platform to sell their services, gain clients, and earn money. Withdrawals from the platform is quite easy, and funds can be withdrawn through Payoneer, Skrill, MasterCard, and PayPal.

How to create a Legiit account

Getting a Legiit account is quite easy and accessible globally (anyone around the world can get an account), and you get to work according to your schedule and time zone, sounds cool right!

So with that said, let's talk about how to get one.
  • Click here and go to the top right corner of your screen, and click on the sign up button.
  • Input your information, like your name, username, email, password, country, etc., and what you'd be doing on the platform, whether you'd be selling your services, buying services, or doing both on the platform.
  • After you're done filling in and confirming your information, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Click on it, and you'll be directed to your Legiit account.
  • Congrats on your new account!

How to earn on Legiit.com

Freelancers can mainly earn on legiit by selling their skills as services to clients, other ways to earn is;
  • Through referring new users to the platform
  • Or bidding for jobs or tasks posted on the job board by employers and occasionally tips given by the client for jobs well done.
How to set up your profile on legiit

Setting up your profile is important as a freelancer because it gives customers a detailed description about your skills, experience and services you offer making it easier to gain their trust and increases the likelihood of getting hired, so now you know how crucial it is, let's get on to setting up your profile;
So once you're done with registering and confirming your account, the next thing to do is;
  • Click on settings at the top right corner of your screen, then click on account settings.
  • And add your profile image, time zone, address, social media links etc.
  • Make sure you fill out all the empty boxes.
  • And if you're a freelancer you should fill out the "seller profile" .This is a short description about you, your business and the service you offer.
  • You can also make a short professional introductory video of yourself and your service.

What skills are needed to be a legal freelancer?

There are a variety of services offered on legiit ranging from content writing, SEO, internet marketing, Graphic designing, programming etc freelancers can make as much as 500-1000$ a month just from offering any of these services and with skills like;
  • Writing.
  • Graphic designing.
  • UI/UX designing.
  • Product designing.
  • Social media marketing.
  • Programming.
  • Proofreading and editing.
  • Video/photo editing etc.
You can be able to list a service relating to your niche, get clients and land gigs.
